Jeez, I made this in spring last year and forgot to show you! I attended the Pattern Review Weekend in Portland, Oregon — about 100 sewing fanatics met up to chat, learn, go fabric shopping, and have fun. There was a themed sewing contest and since Portland is known as an ideal place to grow roses (you can visit their International Rose Test Garden), the theme was roses.
I made a bit of a matchy-matchy outfit using a rose panel print jersey. The top is yet another Burda Wrap Blouse (04/2014 #115) and the pencil skirt is my second Love Notions Sybil Illusion Skirt. My other versions, along with links and details, are here and here and here.
If I recall correctly, I had just over one meter of the grey and pink rose panel print. I ended up having to use a bit of black jersey for the front under-panel, but I really like how this looks.
As I have done with my previous three (!) Burda Wrap Blouses, I added about 10cm/4 inches to the length, as it is drafted to be a bit cropped. However, I think this outfit might have looked better with the cropped length. Maybe one day I will get around to shortening it.
I’m not feeling very writerly today as my cat just unloaded about 30 liters of pee all over the basement this morning, so I’ve spent my day so far mopping it up, doing laundry (I’m ashamed to say how much fabric was being ‘stored’ on the basement floor), and generally feeling pretty miffed. But these rosy pics have cheered me up. Yay, sewing!
Thanks for stopping by!
